You are invited to attend a special alumni panel discussion on Health Care Reform on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at The Rivers Club in Pittsburgh. We will begin with a networking reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the panel discussion at 7:00 p.m. Health Reform will bring unprecedented change to the US healthcare industry and create both winners and losers. Please join us for an open discussion of the opportunities for businesses and investors as well as the impact public policy. We will focus on answering questions such as: · How will pharmaceutical companies need to position themselves with changes to insurance benefits? · What is the impact of additional primary care demand and what efficiencies and investments will be needed to accommodate the new demand? · What technologies could take advantage of expected increases in hospital capital budgets? · Where is the market discounting stocks due to current uncertainty in managed care and pharmaceuticals? Our discussion will be led by a panel of experts who have cross-industry expertise in healthcare and life sciences. Dr. Arthur A. Boni (BS/CIT '61) is Director of the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship and holds the John R. Thorne Chair of Entrepreneurship at the Tepper School of Business. Dr. Boni will be teaching at the BIO Entrepreneurial Boot Camp on Monday and Tuesday. BIO 2008 is the world’s largest biotechnology organization, providing advocacy, business development, and communications services for more than 1,150 members worldwide. It is the host of the annual BIO International Convention, the BIO CEO & Investor Conference, and other industry events. Among the keynote speakers at the conference will be General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.) and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California.

Join Carnegie Mellon alumni who are attending the 2007 BIO International Conference in Boston for an informal networking reception with Tepper Professor, Dr. Art Boni and Carnegie Mellon Professor, Jim "Oz" Osborn, on Monday, May 7, 2007 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Cambridge headquarters of Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research.
We are inviting all Carnegie Mellon alumni in the biotechnology, life sciences, pharma and healthcare fields to attend as part of our goal to develop a strong alumni network around the world of alumni in these interrelated fields.
