7/11/2005:

My firm, Interplay, has been a lot of fun. We've recently repositioned ourselves as a training organization offering "Empathy Skills for healers". We're working with two very large hospitals in the Northwest and expanding.

My wife has started a new company, Sceneplay, that uses directors and improvisors to analyze and fix screenplays. That has been great fun as well. You can look for her website at www.sceneplay.net.

Our twins, Jack and Livvy, are 4 1/2 and have just read their first books. I had no idea that was possible at their age. And I've never been so thrilled to hear that "Mat sat on Sam."

I hope you're all getting what you hoped for. I'd love to hear from you.

8/22/2004: Looks like I missed the Fall 2004 deadline due to work travel. I submitted class notes to our class rep and the CMU Magazine for me and two other classmates with a photo since we had a mini reunion in Nassau, Bahamas this past March, but it didn't make the last issue. We were quite disappointed. Here's an update, although two CMU alums mentioned in this update graduated from other departments. I've been living in Moscow, ID since March 2002. Not many CMU graduates in Idaho. I'm working as the Assistant Director of Development and External Relations for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. I basically raise money and do external relations for the veterinary college. My work email is leonardo@vetmed.wsu.edu. No big news, but I was pretty excited to go to the women's volleyball NCAAs in Hawaii this past December where my boyfriend's team played Hawaii in the first round of NCAA playoffs. They lost, but not a bad place to go in December. He's the Associate Head Women's Volleyball Coach for the University of Idaho Vandals. We also attended the Holiday Bowl in San Diego this past December where the WSU Cougars defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-20, I believe. WSU and the UI are 8 miles apart just across state lines. Our lives in the northwest are pretty consumed by collegiate athletics between the two university's where we work. In March of 2004, I vacationed in Nassau, Bahamas with Elizabeth "E'beth" Rowlands (H&SS '93) and Joanna Downer (MCS '93). E'beth recently completed her DVM degree at Texas A&M and is practicing at a Cat Clinic in Houston, TX. Just a coincidence that were both in veterinary medicine. Joanna is a public information officer for the Johns Hopkins Medical School and is working on her row house in the Fells Point section of Baltimore. We met up a few times this past year. I have also seen Stephanie Horwitz (IM '93)in San Francisco a few times this past year. She's currently working in Finance for Levi's. She attended the Stanford vs WSU football game with me last Fall.

7/28/2004: After joining Washingto Mutual last year as Program Manager for Corporate Finance and Accounting Systems, I was recently promoted to Vice President of Business Strategy for the Technology Solutions Group at WaMu. My responsibilities include developing a business model that supports the CIOs strategic goals, initiating major projects with our business customers, and identifying operational excellence opportunities. We are staffing up the team under direction of a new CIO so I am looking for project managers. David Spyra from our class recently took over Sarbanes Oxley leadership for TSG at WaMu and he is hiring as well. Outside of work, my son Mason is almost a year old and is a very happy little guy. 4/2/2003: Two years and two months ago I started a high-tech company, Teseda Corporation (www.teseda.com)and have been President and CEO since then. We've been through 2 rounds of venture funding (one in 2001 and one in 2002; both of which were not great years for venture capital!) and have designed, built, and introduced a new kind of integrated circuit tester that is dramatically lower in cost than existing solutions. We're up to 25 people and 2003 is our first year of revenue, so life just keeps getting more interesting!
