Tepper Alumni Panel on Health Care Reform

Location: Bain & Company, Inc., 131 Dartmouth Street

Sponsored by the Tepper School of Business Boston Alumni Chapter

You are invited to attend a special alumni panel discussion on Health Care Reform on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the offices of Bain & Company, Inc. at 131 Dartmouth Street in Boston. We will begin with a networking reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the panel discussion at 6:30 p.m. More time will be available for networking afterwards.

Health Reform will bring unprecedented change to the US healthcare industry and create both winners and losers. Please join us for an open discussion of the opportunities for businesses and investors as the recent reforms in Massachusetts are reflected on a national scale. We will focus on answering questions such as:

· How will pharmaceutical companies need to position themselves with changes to insurance benefits?
· What is the impact of additional primary care demand and what efficiencies and investments will be needed to accommodate the new demand?
· What technologies could take advantage of expected increases in hospital capital budgets?
· Where is the market discounting stocks due to current uncertainty in managed care and pharmaceuticals?

Our discussion will be led by a panel of experts who have cross-industry expertise in healthcare and life sciences. Among our alumni panelists will be:

George B. Bennett, PhD (MSIA '70; PhD '71), Chairman, Health Dialog Services Corporation

Jeffrey Bowman (BS/H&SS '86; MSIA/TPR '92), Director, Health Care Practice, Deloitte Consulting

Kathy Butler, Partner at HawkPartners in Cambridge; worked for leading and emerging companies in the healthcare sector, including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Astra Zeneca, Merck, Sepracor, EMD Serono, etc.

Oliver S. Fetzer, Ph.D. (MSIA '93), President and Chief Executive Officer, CERULEAN Pharma Inc.
