Location:
Sponsored by the Tepper School of Business Detroit Alumni Chapter Come To The Southeast Michigan GSIA & CMU Alumni September Family Event Where: Metro Beach MetroPark (http://www.metroparks.com/metrobeach.html) Directions: From the I-696/I-94 interchange, go east on I-94 to Exit 236, after exiting from I-94 go east approximately 3 miles and the road will lead into the MetroPark. The guard at the entrance will be able to point you toward the West Playfield Shelter, which is our reserved home base for the afternoon. Our picnic area is right next to a basketball court, a softball field, nature trails, and another wide open field. We should have fun things for people of all ages to do. When: Sunday, September 23rd 12:30pm - ???? Picnic style lunch around 1:30 - please bring one dish to share (see below) Who: All interested GSIA and CMU alumni and their families What: Family style fun - afternoon picnic, softball (bring gloves & bats), basketball, ultimate frisbee, and anything else that would be fun in the open field next to the picnic area What to Bring: Plan on bringing one dish, dessert, or drink to share. Plates, cups, ice, napkins, & plastic sporks will be provided. To make certain that we don't end up with 100 litres of Sodapop and no main dishes, please let Matt Snyder (mhsnyder@earthlink.net) know what you'll be bringing. Also, if you can bring any of the following: lawn games, softball bats, balls, & gloves, volleyball & volleyball net, basketballs, frisbees, etc., please do so. Softball without a ball and bat, just isn't as much fun..... Important Note for those also interested in morning golfing In addition to the afternoon family picnic, we plan to block off some early morning tee times at the Stony Creek Golf Course (ph# 810-781-9166) in Mt. Clemens for those folks who would enjoy playing golf. Tee times will start at about 7:30 to make certain that the last golfing group finishes its round by about 12:30 The course rents clubs if you need that service. This will be a purely recreational round with no tournaments, no prizes, no competitions - just a few hours of morning relaxation and getting to know new faces before the afternoon family picnic. If you wish to play golf in the morning, but did not receive the prior email on this or did not yet express a desire to play, please call Matt at (248) 642-1280 by Tuesday, Sept. 4 so we can make arrangements with the course. If you did RSVP to the prior email expressing an interest in morning golf, you will be receiving a separate note shortly. Any general questions - shoot a note to cmualumni33@yahoo.com. Look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd! |
