Eric Daimler is a Founding Partner of Hg Analytics LLC, a New York City-based
asset management firm focused on highly sophisticated trading strategies,
particularly those relating to statistical arbitrage. Prior to the formation of
Hg Analytics, Mr. Daimler spent several years building Carnegie Mellon's Silicon
Valley presence as both Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of Software
Engineering Practice where he also started the local Entrepreneurship education
sequence with graduate students from the engineering and business schools (SCS,
CIT, and Tepper). Beginning his career at Carnegie Mellon's SEI, he later worked
for Merrill Lynch (now BoA) in London, and later Morgan Stanley structuring
complex financial transactions for companies such as Cisco and Netscape, and for
sovereign countries such as Colombia, Mexico, and Lebanon. Later, before
returning to
Carnegie Mellon, Mr. Daimler was a principal of a $1.5 B Silicon Valley-based
venture fund, where he has directly invested $250 M with companies including
Hotmail, Portal Software, and TiVo. He has founded or co-founded five companies.
In 1987, he founded the undergraduate University Entrepreneurship Association at
Carnegie Mellon. Eric is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, with
undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Managerial Economics and graduate
studies in Financial Economics and Computer Science at both Carnegie Mellon and
Stanford.
