Jose Anstey is an entrepreneur has worked for marketing information and systems companies serving the Fast Moving Consumer Packaged Goods (FMCPG) industry for over 35 years. After a working for MSA, MRCA, and IRI, Jose founded Applied Information for Marketing, Inc. in 1989, developing the first systematic capabilities for evaluation and planning of trade promotions based integrating EPOS data gathered from retail scanners with a company’s own transactional data.
AIM systems such as PROMOMAX® and TRADEMAX® were used by a large number of CPG companies, including KRAFT, General Mills, Bristol Myers, Unilever, etc. AIM was sold in 2000 to Aegis plc, a leading global marketing services company.
Recently, Jose is active in a number of local and international companies as an investor and at the board level, and is in the process of starting up another venture, Promotion Decision Solutions (PDS) in the marketing and sales information area.
Jose was born in South Africa, studied Chemical Engineering at the University
of Cape Town and obtained a graduate business degree from GSIA at Carnegie
Mellon University in 1971.
