John Drastal joined WCC in November 2002 as Senior Managing Director of Trading and is responsible for all trading and securitization of mortgage products for Washington Mutual. In his role as Division Executive for Market Risk Management, Drastal has overall responsibility for all Capital Markets securitization and trading activities. John has eighteen years of experience in fixed-income trading and management and has experienced all aspects of running a major mortgage and structured finance business, including trading, distribution, research, risk management, finance, operations and new business development. John Drastal was a Managing Director and Principal at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he was responsible for mortgage and ABS trading businesses. He spent four years at Goldman Sachs & Company as Vice President in the Mortgage Backed Securities Department as a senior trader on the mortgage pass-through desk. John also traded mortgage pass-through securities and options for Lehman Brothers and Drexel, Burnham & Lambert. Prior to joining WCC, John was President and CEO at ConnectBusiness, where he developed an entirely new breed of technology and led the company from design through product release and sales.

John Drastal holds a Masters of Science in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.
